About the project
Healthy Waterways London is a partnership of London boroughs, the Port of London Authority and the Canal and River Trust. The project aims to improve air quality and protect the health of boating communities living in London, as well as those who live, work, learn and travel alongside London’s waterways.
The project comprises three main elements:
Carrying out a survey to learn more about how air pollution is affecting health and wellbeing along London’s inland waterways.
Creating a communications campaign to build awareness of air pollution and the ways we can all reduce our exposure to it.
Producing a Healthy Waterways Strategy with London’s boating community, to identify opportunities for improving air quality and environmental conditions for those living on boats in London.
The project is funded by the Mayor of London’s Air Quality Fund.
